Dear Friend,
We are so excited to announce our first honoree for our Evening Over Violence event: performance artist and activist Kristina Wong! Kristina is receiving the Humanitarian Award for Social Justice recognizing the work she does to empower and support diverse communities through a social justice lense and as a thought-provoking comedian who inspires us and others into action. Kristina is a Doris Duke Artist Award winner, Guggenheim Fellow and a Pulitzer Prize finalist in Drama - among other designations. She is the Founder of Auntie Sewing Squad, a national mutual aid network of volunteers that sewed cloth masks for vulnerable communities during the Covid pandemic, which is the subject of her award winning stage show, “Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord.”
The award will be presented at our annual Evening Over Violence event on Thursday, October 26th at Taglyan Hollywood. Make your plan to join us and buy your tickets today! Stay tuned for more details about the event and our other awesome honorees.
