There's an all-out assault on retirement security, and it's just comign from one side of the aisle.
Having failed to privatize the our Social Security system under President George W. Bush, Republicans became fixated on making Social Security inaccessible to as many people as possible, by defunding the Social Security Administration and pushing to raise the retirement age so that more and more folks have to work until they die.
After staying quiet for a bit, Republicans are taking their masks off and crowing about their plans to raise the retirement age for young people like my friend Nick Guthman, who wrote you below.

Tell Republicans:
Presidential candidates Tim Scott, Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie and Nikki Haley have all publicly said they want to make today’s 30 and 40-year-olds retire later than their parents. And Donald Trump proposed cuts to Social Security every year he was President. These politicians want today’s young people to pay into Social Security their whole lives, and then accept less than our parents in retirement. Young people will not accept less than our parents got, and grandparents will not take a secure retirement away from our grandkids. We will NOT raise the retirement age!

John,
When asked if he would cut Social Security on Fox News, Ron DeSantis said:1
“Talking about making changes for people in their 30s and 40s, that’s a much different thing and that’s something that there’s gonna need to be discussions on.”
Let’s be clear on what Ron DeSantis is saying: Me and every single one of my peers will see our Social Security benefits cut under a DeSantis administration.
DeSantis isn’t alone. His fellow presidential candidates Tim Scott and Nikki Haley have offered similar “tough solutions” rhetoric, where they ask our generation to sacrifice so that their ultra-rich Wall Street donors don’t need to pay another penny. And Donald Trump proposed cuts to Social Security in every budget he released as President.
Our generation has already “sacrificed” by growing up with the trauma of active shooter drills.
Our generation is growing up in a changed climate because our planet has been “sacrificed.”
We will not sacrifice our retirement. Period.
We’re proud to stand in intergenerational solidarity with Social Security Works and our allies to send an unambiguous message: Hands off our Social Security!
You Rock,
Nick Guthman
