HB 2127 is the largest transfer of power that we’ve ever seen in Texas – stripping power away from local communities and working people and putting it into the hands of a few extreme lawmakers. On August 30th, this dangerous law was declared unconstitutional, but the State is attempting to hold this decision up in court, our fight is not over.

One of the cruelest impacts of this law is the elimination of required rest breaks for workers who must labor outside, while Texas workers are dying from heat exposure.

Gov. Abbott has ignored every opportunity to put statewide heat protections in place. Now the workers who build Texas are suffering because of his inaction.

Texas workers can't wait any longer. Tell Gov. Abbott to add statewide heat protections to the upcoming special session!
