After a long summer recess, Congress is about to return to DC with a jam-packed, high-stakes legislative calendar. 

With a government funding deadline looming, Republicans are preparing to force a government shutdown unless a laundry list of extreme demands are met. They’re also eyeing cuts to the Farm Bill which would strip food assistance away from families in need. 

On the other side, Democrats are preparing to tackle the shocking corruption that's embroiled the Supreme Court. And we’ll be pushing for action on our Reproductive Freedom Agenda to counter MAGA attacks on our fundamental rights. 

As we gear up for these massively consequential fights, we’re so grateful to have activists like you in this movement. There will be many all-hands-on-deck moments this fall when we’re going to need your help to put pressure on our representatives with carefully timed and highly targeted actions. Why does Indivisible need this information? 

Constituent pressure is at the core of our advocacy. Members of Congress don’t really care what people outside their district think (unless they are major donors or host popular cable news shows watched by their constituents). So we want to make sure that when we ask you to contact your member of Congress, we’re connecting you with the right person! 

We also don’t want to accidentally send you info about rallies or demonstrations taking place where you used to live or miss out on sending you important info on elections in your area. Having a precise address for you (right down to the house number) allows us to direct you to your correct representative and send you the most relevant actions to make the biggest difference possible. 

How else can I make an impact in the lead up to these fights?

This has been a difficult fundraising year for progressive organizations, Indivisible included. To mount the effective campaigns we’ll need to win these legislative fights, to hold vulnerable Republicans accountable when they side with extremists in threatening a shutdown, and ultimately to retake the House next year and re-establish our Democratic trifecta, we rely on grassroots donations from supporters like you.
