Upcoming Programming focused on Anti-Bullying & Addressing Anti-LGBTQIA+ Rhetoric

With college students back on campuses and a new school year on the other side of the weekend, September is here! Once we settle back into that familiar rhythm, fall becomes a perfect time to begin gathering and learning more. Room for All is excited to announce a whole host of opportunities to do just that!


** ONA Ministry Bullying Webinar

In partnership with our friends at the Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ, Program Manager Mitch Leet is leading an Anti-Bullying webinar on September 28, 2023, at 7:00 PM EST. We’ll discuss types of bullying, becoming an upstander, and what parents, churches and communities can do to both prevent and respond to instances of bullying at all age levels.

** Rhetoric Training Launch

On
October 2nd, 2023, at 7:00 PM EST, Room for All will present Responding to Anti-LGBTQIA+ Rhetoric, a 2 hour virtual training designed to inform and prepare LGBTQIA+ leaders and allies for action.

Our time together will provide a background of the “Christian” movement against equal rights, and multiple tools for effective communication. This training, most importantly, offers a chance to practice responding.

All are welcome! While this training is provided at no cost to RfA rostered clergy and congregations, attendees are encouraged to make a suggested donation ([link removed]) of $10 to support the ongoing work toward the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in the life and ministry of the Reformed Church in America.

** Clergy Meetups Launch
October 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM EST

To strengthen the bonds between fellow Room for All rostered clergy, and clergy interested in becoming more LGBTQIA+ affirming, we are hosting quarterly meetups via Zoom! This time together will hold space for check ins and resource sharing across the divides of classis and Regional Synods.
