“I’m hearing my name mentioned a little bit tonight,” Sen. Bernie Sanders joked at Tuesday's Democratic debate in South Carolina.

This was the last debate before The Palmetto State's primary on Saturday and next week's vote-a-rama Super Tuesday. Which was why all of the contenders focused some fire on frontrunner Sanders.

During the opening comments portion of the evening, Michael Bloomberg told Sanders that “Russia is helping you get elected."

Sen. Elizabeth Warren insisted “I would make a better president than Bernie."

Tom Steyer said that while the Vermont senator has the correct analysis of the economy, “I don’t like his solutions."

Former Vice President Joe Biden invoked a nearby African American church where nine worshippers were killed by a white supremacist: "Bernie voted five times against the Brady Bill [gun control legislation] and wanted a waiting period of 12 hours."

Senate Democrats Block Abortion Bills

The Senate failed to advance a set of anti-abortion bills Tuesday after Democrats voted to block debate on the GOP-introduced legislation. Both bills needed 60 votes to advance.

Here’s a high-level breakdown of the votes:

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protect Act failed on a 56-41 vote, in which all Republicans voted in favor and were joined by Sens. Bob Casey (D-PA), Doug Jones (D-AL), and Joe Manchin (D-WV).
The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act failed on a 53-44 vote, in which nearly all Republicans, except for Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski, voted in favor. Sens. Casey and Manchin were the only Democrats to vote “yea”.

Here's a fun fact about the Grand Canyon: When we stayed in the park, my father wouldn't give me the keys to the rental car because he was afraid I'd somehow lose control of the Camry, skid 5 miles to the Grand Canyon, crash through two entry gates, careen through the parking lot, spin across the viewing area, smash through the safety railing, and plummet into the canyon.
