It's been wonderful to see so many people and families enjoying Nottingham Beach this summer.

Dip your toes in the pool and feel the sand beneath your feet for the final time this weekend, as the beach closes at 6pm on Sunday.

There's still time to enjoy seaside fun until then, with free entry to the beach, boardwalk and paddling area. Fly above Old Market Square on Starflyer, try your luck at hook-a-duck or race your friends down the UK's largest inflatable urban waterslide.

Hourly slots are available for the Giant Slip 'n Slide - we recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment on the day. Nottingham city residents can also get a discount when booking online.

The Archery GB National Tour Finals take place at Wollaton Park this weekend.

Britain's best archers will be going head-to-head in the compound, recurve and barebow categories, with six champions emerging victorious.

Sunday's recurve day is sold out, but tickets are still available for the compound and barebow events on Saturday.

You will also have the chance to pick up a bow and try your hand at the sport in the Start Archery zone.

More archery is in store this weekend with our last open-air theatre performance of the summer at Newstead Abbey.

Illyria Theatre has created a fun-packed family show. While good King Richard is away fighting the crusades, his friend Robin Hood resolves to relieve corrupt landowners of their wealth, to ruin the inept Sheriff of Nottingham and to do all he can to prevent the power-mad Prince John from seizing the throne.

Featuring tales of camaraderie, good against evil, swashbuckling action, riotous comedy and an archery competition involving the entire audience!

Victoria Embankment

The summer's final Bands in the Park concert will be at the Victoria Embankment bandstand on Sunday.

Now in its 33rd year, Nottingham Concert Band presents audience-friendly concerts throughout Nottingham and beyond. The band draws from a wide repertoire, so there is always something for everyone at their concerts, led by Conductor and Music Director Robert Parker.

The concert starts at 2pm and is free to watch.

Sherwood Forest to Newark

The eagerly anticipated Nottinghamshire stage of this year’s Tour of Britain cycle race will start at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre and finish in Newark.

The Tour’s fourth visit to Nottinghamshire in seven years represents another chance for the sprinters. Despite being the third longest stage of the race, the route features a little over 1,200 metres of climbing. Clumber Park, Worksop, Retford, Southwell, Tuxford and Collingham will feature along the route. 

The winner of the race’s second visit to Newark-on-Trent will be crowned close to the banks of the River Trent, and just a short distance from the town’s famous castle and the spectacular St Mary Magdalene’s Church.
