Dear Friend,

** Lucy Letby is not in hospital after prison attack ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Thousands of people have shared posts on Facebook falsely claiming that convicted child serial killer Lucy Letby has been “rushed to hospital” after being attacked in prison. However, the Ministry of Justice has confirmed the claims in the Facebook posts are untrue.

This is not the first time Full Fact has seen posts about high profile prisoners being attacked, including false claims about the police officer who killed Sarah Everard, and the father of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes who was convicted for his son’s murder.

** London’s Low Emission Zone and Ultra Low Emission Zone are two separate schemes ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Full Fact has secured a correction from the Daily Mail over a story published on 24 August which mischaracterised the implementation of London’s Low Emission Zone and Ultra Low Emission Zone.

Misleading claims about the ULEZ and the process behind its extension, which we’ve written about a number of times previously, can damage trust in politics and harm public debate. We’re grateful to the Daily Mail for correcting its reporting.

** Fake Donald Trump mugshots shared online ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
We have seen a number of fake headshots of former president Donald Trump spread online, following his surrender in the US state of Georgia on charges of plotting to overturn the state’s election results. Mr Trump has denied any wrongdoing and described the case against him as a “travesty of justice”.

One image was likely created using an AI image generator. A major giveaway is the jumbled letters behind him—AI often struggles to correctly recreate text, resulting in garbled words in some AI-generated images. Mr Trump posted his real mugshot on Twitter, now known as X, with the words “Election interference” and “Never surrender!”
