€5,000 Artist and Youth Work Residency Grant Scheme Open for Applications
Do you have a good idea for a youth arts project but need funding to work with an artist? We are looking to support partnerships involving artists in residence in youth work settings or youth groups in residence in arts settings, starting in June 2020. Find out more here.

Girl Guides Pledge to Reduce Plastic Waste
Irish Girl Guides’ members are set to significantly reduce their consumption of single-use plastics following their launch of a Responsible Consumerism initiative, which is being spearheaded by a group of teenage members who visited India last summer. The organisation’s 11,000 members have committed to organising events without the use of single-use plastics and will learn about the impact of plastic on the environment and the importance of reuse and recycling. Ógras Youth Exchange to France & Seachtain na Gaeilge
Ógras will be taking part in a youth exchange in the Metz region in France in June this year. This is a chance for Ógras leaders and senior members to learn and develop new skills. If you are an Ógras leader over 18 years old, find out more about this trip by getting in touch with Ógras directly. Ógras will also be taking part in Seachtain na Gaeilge 2020 by both arranging and attending events. Celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge by attending a local Irish language event in your area, or arranging your own event, and register yours with peig.ie to have it advertised.
Irish Youth Music Awards Announces 2020 Date
Youth Work Ireland’s Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs) returns to Croke Park for its all-ages National Day on Saturday, May 9. The event will feature an education hub with masterclasses and workshops from some of Ireland’s top industry professionals, offering young people an opportunity to learn more about the creative industries, as well as a chance to catch some exclusive performances. Speak Out Tour 2020
Young Social Innovators is touring the country in March to give over 6,000 teenagers a voice on issues that matter to them! If you would like to attend and hear how young people are tackling issues and taking action to create a fairer and more sustainable world, join at an event of your choice.
Funded Group Volunteer Project in Albania
Volunteer and Service International has arranged an opportunity for eight Irish young people to volunteer in Tirana from May 10 to June 8 this year. This is opportunity is fully arranged and the funding is approved through Erasmus+. If you have a group of young people who may suitable for the project or know one or two young people who would like to take part, contact Mateja at VSI office as soon as possible: email Mateja or call 087 336 7275.
Catholic Guides of Ireland Health Promotion Day
The Catholic Guides of Ireland held its first Health Promotion Day in January. The day was organised as a way to give something back to volunteers through a series of informative and fun workshops. At the event, the CGI Healthy Unit Programme was launched, which is an initiative that aims to involve all youth and adult members in health promotion.

FOLM (From Outdoors to Labour Market)
Young people who are out of education or employment are being encouraged to participate in a pioneering outdoor education initiative. Participants will carry out tasks during a seven-day journey in the Irish mountain wilderness and will work with a coach to support them in returning to education, training, or employment on their return. Women Taking the Lead: Defending Human Rights and the Environment
You are invited to join a discussion on the experience of women challenging corporate power and protecting the environment, featuring keynote speaker Bertha Caceres, leader of the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras. Career L.E.A.P. Graduation
Career Local Employment Action Partnership would like to thank its business partners for their support of its latest group of participants.
