Friend,

Last Wednesday, the Republican National Committee held its first primary debate,
including eight GOP presidential candidates. Unsurprisingly, the debate (if you
want to call it that) turned into a spectacle marred by lies and xenophobic
rhetoric. Each participant pandered to their base, instead of presenting
serious, effective solutions to our country’s most pressing issues.

In our ongoing commitment to shed light on the truth, we are here to cut through
the noise and give you the facts.

“70% of people support a 15-week abortion ban.” - Former Vice President Mike Pence

COMPLETELY FALSE: The truth is that 80% Americans actually oppose federal bans on abortions, which includes 65% of Republicans (Source: USA
TODAY/Suffolk University poll).

"Immigration at the border is an invasion.” - Vivek Ramaswamy
*Additionally, some candidates proposed using military force in Mexico,
including the use of cruise missiles and ground troops.

RESOUNDINGLY FALSE: This rhetoric not only lifts talking points from neo-Nazis, but it also gives a
sense of normalcy and permission for white supremacists to advance their deeply
repulsive beliefs.

A question posed to all eight candidates: “Do you believe that human behavior is causing climate change?”

YES, THIS IS 100% TRUE: Yet not one hand went up , with deflections from DeSantis attacking the “corporate media” and a tired
response from Ramaswamy echoing Trump, calling the climate change agenda a
“hoax.” For years, experts, multiple studies, and scientific papers have warned
and shown that global warming is real and that humans are the primary cause.

Folks, it is very clear that Republicans are using the
same tired rhetoric for their 2024 agendas, and we want people to be aware.
