Our country still throws up all kinds of barriers for women looking to serve their country as elected officials. Women candidates face double-standards in the media regarding their "likability" and "electability" (don't even get me started on those two words) that men running for office simply don't face. And, most bluntly of all, women candidates raise less money at every phase of an election cycle compared to men.
