Normally, I spend August 31 firing up the group text to confirm my RSVPs and make sure at least 2 people are bringing extra ice because – today is my birthday!

But when you're a candidate, the last day of the month is the busiest day for fundraising. So instead of finalizing party details today, I'm finalizing the August fundraising for our campaign.
