Jack, yesterday when I sent this email, I honestly thought we would miss our monthly goal, but I should have known better. Time and time again, Daily Kos readers and activists have dug deep to support our work.

Jack, earlier this month we set the ambitious goal to raise $625,000 for the month of August.

We certainly knew this would be a challenge: Summer, in particular August, is the slowest fundraising time of the year. On top of that, fundraising for progressive advocacy organizations has been weak since Trump left the White House. It's gotten to the point where some organizations have had to make hard financial decisions in order to stay operating.

Daily Kos hasn't been immune to those financial struggles. We rely on three sources of revenue, and two of those sources have been lagging behind our projections. We raised our August fundraising goal in hopes of making up some of that lost revenue.

So far we have raised $573,616 with $46,517 left to hit our goal. I don't know if we will make it, but every dollar raised goes directly to powering our work. That's why I am asking if you can support progressive news and activism with a donation of $5 or more to Daily Kos today?
