Health care CEOs are making billions of dollars and then using obscene amounts of money to influence politicians through campaign contributions.

NNU - Medicare for All!

Did you see this enraging headline?

Health care CEOs are pocketing billions of dollars in salaries and bonuses and then using obscene amounts of money to influence politicians through campaign contributions.

In 2022, total health care industry spending on lobbying was a whopping $731 million -- the highest of any year yet.1 In the same year, for-profit health care companies spent $102.9 billion on stock buybacks to buy shares in their own company in order to inflate the price of stock and enrich their investors.2

Here is what is clear: the for-profit health care system is unparalleled in producing billions of dollars in profits and maintains this status quo by flushing congressional campaigns with hundreds of millions of dollars every election cycle.

It must stop now. This is why we’re reaching out to you today to ask if you’ll take action by joining one of our Patients Over Profits Special Volunteer Teams.

Our special teams are doing important and time-sensitive work to advance our Patients Over Profits pledge, which calls on politicians across the country to refuse campaign contributions from the corporate health care industry.

If we want to end this cycle of injustice, we need to use our collective power. So what do you say? Will you take action now by signing up to join one of the Patients Over Profits Special Volunteer Teams? We’ll provide you with all of the training, materials, and support that you need.
