Dear John,

Recently I emailed you about Texas’ disastrous rollout of Medicaid recertifications now that the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has ended. The newest data shows over 600,000 Texans no longer have access to healthcare – and it was all preventable.

The truth is, Dan Patrick has stood in the way of progress on so many issues we care about, and access to affordable, quality healthcare has been chief among them.

Enough is enough. John, will you chip in $10 or more today to help us fight back? Click here to rush a donation and stand up for healthcare access in Texas.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

As I recently wrote in the Austin American-Statesman, we can fix this healthcare crisis, but only if we have the will to act. You can read my full op-ed here.

We must explore every option to help Texas kids and working families who depend on Medicaid to access healthcare. Here’s just a few things we can do:

  • Adopt Express Lane Eligibility

  • Reduce procedural denials and facilitate re-enrollment

  • Provide 1-year of continuous coverage to kids and expand Medicaid

Texas already leads the nation in the number of uninsured children and rural hospital closure. Too many Texans have to choose between keeping food on the table, accessing medicine or doctor visits, and keeping a roof over their head.

We cannot let this vicious cycle continue unchecked. Let’s fight back.

Your friend,
