Please join us in providing feedback to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on this year’s updates to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Outpatient Prospective Payment System. You can do so by signing on to our comment letters for both rules below.

This is an important opportunity for us to share our collective expertise with the administration on how these rules impact our communities, and to advance issues around rising health care costs and health equity. Medicare payment policy often establishes a standard that is then adopted by other payers including commercial payers and Medicaid. The MPFS and OPPS comment letters include recommendations across several key areas of the updated rules, including:

• Support CMS cracking down on hospitals and large health care corporations that keep prices hidden from patients through improving the Hospital Price Transparency rule, as well as urging CMS to go further in unveiling health care prices.

• Renew calls to protect consumers from irrational hospital bills and end unfair hospital billing practices through comprehensive site neutral payment policy changes.

• Applaud CMS' for taking a number of incremental steps towards advancing whole person care through increased investments for primary care services and payments to community health workers for the first time.

The deadline to sign on to both letters is Friday, September 8, at 2pm ET.

We’d also love your support in urging the 118th Congress to take action on making health care prices more transparent and fairer.
