Dear community,
Today, the Texas Supreme Court refused an emergency request for temporary relief with regard to Senate Bill 14.
The court’s decision to reject safe medical care for transgender Texans is discriminatory and unconstitutional especially because the exact same medical care is available to everyone else.

Allowing SB 14 to go into effect will have lasting and devastating consequences for all Texans, their families, and their medical providers. People of all races, genders, and backgrounds have all experienced the dangerous and sometimes fatal consequences when medical care is denied.
Cruel politicians should not be allowed to come between patients and their doctor. All Texans should understand, in no uncertain terms, that the fight for body autonomy and self-determination can be life-or-death. We will continue to fight alongside our partners for trans Texans, their families, and their doctors to provide the safe, lifesaving, necessary care.
This fight is far from over.
In solidarity,
Lynly Egyes
Legal Director of TLC
