These past few weeks, the GOP has showed us everything we need to know when we’re thinking about who we want to run our elections:
→ At the first GOP debate, nearly every Republican committed to back Donald Trump if he’s the nominee in 2024. This is the same guy that incited an insurrection on the Capitol just two years ago.
→ While Donald Trump himself opted to skip the debates, in an interview with Tucker Carlson, he doubled down in calling the election he lost "rigged."
→ And in Georgia, Trump faced his fourth criminal indictment over trying to rig the election in his favor in 2020.
The headlines may change, but one thing is constant, John: election deniers and the MAGA movement haven’t given up on rigging American democracy.
Our best line of defense against GOP voter suppression and plots to decertify election results is having strong, pro-democracy Secretaries of State who will protect the will of the voters.
