Construction Update

Road and parking lot improvements

This year, the Airport contracted to have several sections of roadway repaved. New pavement was installed on 109th St SW, 27th Ave W, and 31st Pl W. Contractors are now turning their attention to repaving the C-5, C-70, and C-71 parking lots before the construction season closes for the year.

Terminal Area Ramp

Contractors have moved into the third and final phase of the Terminal Area Ramp project. in the first two phases, the contractor poured 4,600 cubic yards of concrete, covering 10,190 square yards at a depth of 16 inches. We've seen 460 truckloads of concrete come through the site, with more to come in this final phase.

The project is expected to be completed in early October. It is funded by Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs).

Administration Office remodel

Interior of office building that is being renovated. Carpet and walls have been removed.

Renovation of PAE's Administration offices is now underway. Airport staff expect to move in to the facility in mid-2024.

In late 2021, the airport purchased an existing office building in BOMARC to replace our current administrative building. The current building was constructed in the 1950s and has reached the end of its useful life. It is also not large enough to accommodate our airport staff.?

PAE will be leasing a portion of the building to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office to house its South Precinct.

We are pleased to announce that Operations Specialist Aaron Schriver and Assistant Chief David Oliveri have both recently achieved their ACE Airfield Operations from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

The ACE Airfield Operations is based on a detailed set of informational modules that reflect information applicable to all FAR Part 139 airfields.? After reviewing the material candidates are required to pass a 100 multiple choice question exam with a score of 70% or higher.? The information helps shore up their strong understanding of airfield regulations and the numerous considerations related to our 139 certification, airfield construction, safety compliance and other topics.
