The Biden administration and Connecticut’s federal delegation have led our country through unprecedented economic challenges while accomplishing policy wins the DC pundits said were impossible:
- The Inflation Reduction Act was the single largest investment in tackling climate change in U.S. history.
- Sen. Murphy led the charge in passing the most
substantial gun legislation in three decades.
- Connecticut’s delegation has been a united and vocal front in the fight for a women’s right to choose.
Here at home, Governor Lamont and Democrats at our State’s Capitol had one of the most successful legislative sessions in recent memory:
- Democrats passed the first income tax cut in 30 years, putting money back in the pockets of middle-class families.
- Voting rights were expanded by allowing in-person early voting and strengthened through protections against voter discrimination for communities of color throughout the state.
-
By increasing the Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income families, Connecticut took a major step forward in reducing poverty and child hunger.
And now, we turn our attention to this fall’s municipal elections. As a former Town Councilor, I have seen firsthand how engagement at the local level makes the biggest impact in the day-to-day lives of our residents.
Unfortunately, the progress and positive impact Democrats have achieved at the federal and state levels is being hindered at the local level. Nearly 100 of Connecticut’s towns are run by Republicans who are stalling out on moving our communities forward.
Your financial support today helps us organize for this fall’s election in our communities and push for the progress we’ve seen in DC and Hartford under Democratic leadership. Can we count on you to make a $25 contribution today?
I stand proudly on the side of progress, of expanding our freedoms through just policy, and building a brighter, more sustainable future. I proudly stand with Democrats. Thank you for proudly standing with us, too.
With gratitude,
