** Surrey Heath News
------------------------------------------------------------
Camberley Sewage Treatment Works: I am very pleased to report that following continued correspondence with Thames Water, the problem of the foul odour emanating from Camberley Sewage Treatment Works should shortly be resolved. On 11 August, I held a virtual meeting with Thames Water to raise concerns, and subsequently visited the site on 17 August, where I was delighted to learn that the processing of the sewage should be completed by the beginning of September, and that Thames Water would be exploring how they might compensate the community.

Toob update: Having continued to receive correspondence from multiple constituents regarding toob’s deployment of services and the erection of new telegraph poles, I contacted toob’s Business Development Manager at the beginning of the month to ask about alternative means of deployment in several areas, and am pressing for a response. You can keep up-to-date here ([link removed]) .

Royal Mail: Many constituents across Surrey Heath have been in touch with me regarding experiencing unacceptable ongoing delays to postal deliveries, and I am eager to get to the bottom of the issue. I will be visiting the Camberley Delivery Office very soon to speak to management, and I will provide an update on progress following my meeting. You can read more about the action I have been taking here ([link removed]) .

South East Water Tongham works: Further to my update in last month's newsletter, I am delighted to report that I received news from South East Water that the works on The Street in Tongham were completed three weeks ahead of schedule. Given the original proposals involved a suggested 21 week closure which would have been highly disruptive to local residents and businesses, to see the works being concluded so swiftly is hugely welcome. I would like to thank all those who shared their thoughts and concerns with South East Water to help ensure the works were prioritised and completed as rapidly as possible.

M3/A322 congestion update: Following my correspondence to National Highways from July regarding undertaking the necessary groundwork which will help support the case for any potential future infrastructure works at Junction 3, I have now received a reply explaining what National Highways' plan is, and you can read my update here ([link removed]) .

M3 noise pollution update: Further to my meeting in June with Cllr Richard Tear, Cllr Rebecca Jennings-Evans, and representatives from National Highways, I have since received a response from Defra regarding its plans for the noise mapping process in and around Windlesham, and you can read my update here ([link removed]) . I have since written again to Defra to ask for confirmation that monitoring will take place from within and next to Windlesham, and will share any updates in due course.

Dogs Today visit: On 17 August, I met Beverley Smith, the editor of Chobham-based magazine, Dogs Today. Beverley is a brilliant advocate for dogs and is a great campaigner for higher welfare standards. We spoke about pet theft and how to fight cruelty towards animals and I have raised these important issues with the Defra Secretary.

Hospitality Travel Ltd visit: I was hugely grateful to Hospitality Travel Ltd for inviting me to the opening ceremony of the new branch in Bagshot – a fantastic business selling health and well-being focussed products, including saunas. It was fascinating to learn more about the health benefits of saunas, and I wish the company every success.

Surrey Heath Q&A: On 29 August, I hosted a Surrey Heath Q&A for my constituents and was delighted to have the opportunity to answer various wide-ranging questions about all things Surrey Heath. My thanks to all those who joined, and I hope to share a recording of the meeting on my Facebook page soon for those who couldn't attend.
