Here's the deal, folks:

Tonight is our August fundraising deadline, and in just a few weeks, we'll report our quarterly fundraising numbers to the Federal Election Commission.

That means this is one of our last opportunities to put our fundraising on a strong path before we report how much we've raised publicly.

You can bet that National Republicans will be taking a close look at Democrats like Martin's fundraising numbers to gauge how prepared we are to defend our Senate Majority. Any sign of weakness could encourage Mitch McConnell and his allies to start investing more heavily in key races.
