Bottom Line: “Jared, David, Nicole, Taylor, Ryan, Hunter, Riley, Dylan, Kareem, Johnanny, Humberto, Max, and Daegan are not just casualties of war. They are sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, that were pawns in some agenda, and we deserve some information and collaboration from all political parties. It may not be easy, or on your specific schedule or docket, but neither was any of this, for all of us, until it was.”

Bottom Line: “For whatever reason, I think there’s a tendency, both in America and Australia, to underplay and discount the likelihood of a potential confrontation with China over Taiwan. As I examine what Xi Jinping is doing, he seems to be preparing his country for that confrontation, preparing his country for war. And I really think we’ve entered the window for maximum danger.”

Bottom Line: “Everyone knows the KGB from the old Cold War, but very few Americans are aware of the MSS, the Ministry of State Security from China, its main intelligence gathering and espionage gathering organization. It's far larger than the CIA. It's operating widely within the United States. We need to raise awareness and make sure we are guarding against this.”

Bottom Line: “Right now, Americans – usually unwittingly – are funding the People’s Liberation Army, paying for things like aircraft carriers, self-fighters jets, artillery shells, and facilitating a mass surveillance and oppression of the Chinese people.”

Bottom Line: “In its last war with China. Washington failed to deter its adversaries, failed to prepare its military, and prolonged the fighting, ultimately accepting outcomes in 1953 that would probably have been available in 1951 had it adequately projected its own resolve. The next time the stakes will be even higher—and Washington must do better."

Bottom Line: “There’s a big foundation of bipartisan agreement, I think, on the military side. This U.S.-China competition, it’s the single most important thing we’re dealing with and we’ll be dealing with for a long period of time.”
