We just got the first early vote reports from CA-08, and we’ll be frank -- so far, the numbers are not in our favor. Take a look for yourself:

BALLOTS RETURNED IN CA-08
Democrat 10,334 35%
Republican 18,887 65%

As you can see, Republican voters are outpacing Democrats in ballot returns by a wide margin. With just one week left until Election Day, we need to catch up, and we need to do it fast:

The truth is, uncertainty at the top of the ticket is driving most Democrats to vote late. These early vote numbers are a concern -- but this gap is not insurmountable.
