The New York Times reports, "airlines are increasingly resorting to nickel-and-diming consumers with hidden charges. Regulators call these 'junk fees.'"

Extra fees for things like choosing a seat, checking a bag, or boarding early add up to billions of dollars of profit for airlines -- but BIG extra costs for consumers.

President Biden has pledged to take aim at those extra costs. He has pointed to bills that have been introduced in both the House and the Senate to fight junk fees in all industries. We need to get those passed!

Local ABC, CBS, NBC, and even FOX carried our message that these abusive fees cost the average family hundreds or thousands of dollars each year on everything from airline tickets to bank accounts to rent applications. Overdraft fees, medical bills, Taylor Swift tickets…they go on and on.

The AP reports "more than a dozen House Democrats around the country" held "events organized with help from the Progressive Change Institute to promote the administration’s effort to curb junk fees" in Detroit, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Las Vegas, and many other places!

Politico reports, "The high volume of local news coverage of the events has surprised White House officials."
