Prepare to be shocked. A modern-day inquisition is raging in Western countries, including the United States, seeking to strip you of your Christian beliefs. I’m sure Päivi Räsänen’s story is fresh in your memory. Päivi, a Finnish member of Parliament, has been subjected to a legal process that has already lasted for more than four years for the alleged ‘crime’ of sharing her Christian beliefs in public. One year and a half ago, the District Court of Helsinki dropped all charges against her. But now, the prosecutor is appealing that decision, openly attacking core Christian doctrines as "defamatory". The trial begins on August 31st. In just seven days! It's time to speak up for Paivi and defend the freedom to practice our Christian faith without fear of persecution. Our collective support for Päivi back in 2021 was vital, as we supported her every step of the way through her District Court hearing. Päivi was beyond grateful for the support she received from each and every one of you, and always made a point to thank CitizenGO for our work in getting behind her. Now she needs us again, as she faces trial at the Court of Appeals. Our powerful support for Päivi Räsänen can be a game-changer. Päivi Räsänen is a devout Christian who publicly expressed her views on marriage and sexuality, in line with her religious beliefs. Rather than engaging in an open dialogue and respectful discourse, she was met with criminal charges. It sounds familiar, doesn’t it? CitizenGO stepped up in 2021 to support Päivi Räsänen in her fight. We demanded an immediate end to the three "hate speech" criminal charges and were present in Helsinki during her trial. More than 350,000 signatures were gathered from people worldwide who signed a petition in support of Päivi, which were then personally delivered to her. We also took the signatures directly to the desk of Finland’s Prosecutor General. You and I successfully secured Päivi’s acquittal of all charges before, and we can do it again as she faces another trial on August 31st, accused of "agitation against a minority.” But CitizenGO cannot win this battle alone…. We need your help to protect our Christian values from the escalating witch-hunts in Western nations, including the United States.
The State aims to enforce a compulsory ideology, particularly around topics like gender and LGBT, with no room for dissent. If you dare to disagree, you face personal and professional ruin. This threat is real and imminent, putting our Christian faith squarely in the firing line. Remember, Päivi’s case remains a fundamental one for freedom of speech and the right to express all of our Christian convictions freely. Its eventual outcome will undoubtedly serve as a precedent for future situations of this kind, at EU level, and beyond. That is why this case is so important! Working together, you and I need to resist this assault on our faith! And now, you're called—once again—to do the important work of protecting the freedom of speech, our Christian faith and the freedom to practice it.
