Friend,
Horses are still being slaughtered by the thousands because Congress failed to act on the Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act before they broke for August recess. Congress is back in session in September, and we must demand they pass this lifesaving bill along with other critical animal protection measures. Your support now is crucial to making that happen.
Make a $20 donation today to help us continue advocating for horses and all animals at this important moment.
We have to be ready to fight for the SAFE Act and other pending legislation that will save animals’ lives and protect them from needless cruelty. The SAFE Act is one such measure that would prohibit the slaughter of horses in the United States for human consumption, as well as the export of horses abroad for the same purpose.
The abuse these horses endure is unimaginable. They’re crammed into crowded trailers for more than 24 hours at a time, without food, rest or water. Even if they survive the grueling trip across our borders, the horses face a gruesome death once they reach the slaughterhouse—many still conscious as they’re slaughtered, just to end up on someone’s dinner plate.
We must keep up our fight for horses by banning horse slaughter, while we advance all our efforts to protect animals from cruelty and exploitation. Your support now will ensure we’re ready for the fights ahead. Please contribute right now, before Congress returns, to fund all our efforts to stand up for animals.
