I take that fight seriously. That's why we got to Jefferson City early today to file. We then went to the Capitol to support kids and parents who are fighting for their civil rights in Missouri. The legislature is considering multiple bills to further reduce the civil liberties of LGBTQIA+ Missourians, especially our kids.
Today, a 13-year-old bravely testified in Jefferson City and advocated against these bills. I met his family at a town hall event a few weeks ago. We offered all the support we could give, and we were honored to show up to cheer him on today. Meeting him and thanking him for his service were truly the highlights of my day.
We don't take back Missouri by excluding some, by reducing one group's freedom to be, by removing protections that are fundamental to our freedom.
We take it back by being like this 13-year-old: Showing up, putting in the work, and doing it all with courage.
That's the courage and fight we need from our Attorney General, and I promise that's what we'll get with your help.
I appreciate all your support. We've built a strong organization in Missouri over this past year and a bit. Now it's time to push.
Come take back Missouri with us.
