As we approach tonight’s deadline - remember: Limiting access to abortion is one of Governor Youngkin’s legislative priorities, should his party succeed in the November elections and take the State Senate. My Republican opponent is entirely on board with him. She wrote the ban for him.
They believe a ban on abortion after 15 weeks, with limited exceptions, is a “consensus” Virginians can agree upon. They hope it is “modest” enough to avoid the spike in Democratic turnout that has blocked more stringent bans in other states. But even a “middle-ground” ban strips women of their rights.
There can be no compromise on bodily autonomy.
