Pressed by high inflation, many people are working, but this economy is hardly working for them. The Biden administration is set to make matters worse. The Department of Labor will finalize ill-advised regulations on the nation's over 74 million freelance workforce that will make it difficult for them to retain their independent status. Independent contractors stand to lose flexibility, income, and—for some—their livelihoods.

Over the summer, the National Education Association (NEA) held its annual meeting and representative assembly in Orlando, Florida. The NEA, led by Becky Pringle, clearly prioritized a political and social agenda, promoting overtly sexual and inappropriate materials in schools across the country. However, parents and community members are having important discussions and taking action on what is appropriate for their children. Read More ([link removed])

** New Study Finds Less Ocean Plastic From Rivers Than Previous Estimates ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Less plastic is being added to the oceans than previously thought. A recent study published in the journal Nature estimates that only 500,000 metric tons of plastic are flowing into the oceans annually. That may sound like a lot—it is the equivalent of 5,000 blue whales—but it pales in comparison to previous estimates, which range from 4.8 million to 12.7 million metric tons. Evidence exists that she was not the only victim at that school—other girls were also harassed. Horrifyingly, little seems to have been done to find the perpetrator or to ensure that girls are protected from similar predators moving forward.

Parents and all concerned citizens in New Mexico deserve answers.

** Biden Grabs Photo Ops at D.C. School as Students Struggle ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
This week, the Bidens visited a Washington, D.C. middle school, where they spent the day grabbing photo ops with students and posturing about education. Meanwhile, academic proficiency levels are still underwater after two years of Democratic-driven learning disruption. The depressing statistics are a microcosm of the performance deficits paralyzing the nation’s public schools after the learning freeze ushered in by Biden's administration.

** Charter Schools Deliver More Academic Bang per Educational Buck ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
It is a pervasive myth, perpetuated by teachers unions and their allies, that more taxpayer funding is the solution to America’s educational woes. Two new studies on public charter schools dispel that myth by demonstrating how such schools accomplish more with less.
