My name is Atoosa Reaser and I wanted to introduce myself as the Democratic candidate running for the General Assembly House of Delegates in District 27. 

My family and I fled Iran during a revolution that took freedom away from many, especially women. My parents wanted to ensure I could grow up in a free country, where I would have equal access to the BEST of everything

• The best education
• The best communities
• The best opportunity to achieve success. 

I have never forgotten all that my parents did so I could have access to all of that right here in Virginia. As a mother, I would do the same thing. That’s at the heart of why I am running.

So, I made it a mission to give back to the community to make sure others could have a fair shot to live their best life. 

I have lived and worked in Loudoun County for over 20 years as an attorney, substitute teacher, and PTA leader. After a bipartisan Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed me to serve on a county-wide commission that administered services to at-risk youth, I decided to run and serve as a Loudoun County School Board member representing the Algonkian District. During this period, I have stood strong to protect our students while I also championed the creation of new opportunities in academics and arts, improved teacher pay and benefits, and helped lead Loudoun County Schools to a #1 ranking in Virginia.

There is a lot at stake in Virginia. 

I never thought I would see a day when Americans would lose their freedoms. Sadly, women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others are seeing their rights taken away. My Republican opponent worked under the Trump administration and wants to bring those harmful MAGA policies into Loudoun County.  

We have to flip the House of Delegates back to Democratic control. Without the Democratic Brick Wall in the General Assembly, there will be nobody to stop MAGA extremists from enacting devastating legislation here in Virginia. 

That’s why I decided to run for House of Delegates – to make sure every Virginian still has the same freedom and opportunity that brought my family to America in the first place. 

I am prepared to be the voice for HD-27 in Richmond. 

As Delegate, I will be committed to defending reproductive freedoms, growing our economy, reducing costs for families, protecting our communities from gun violence, fully investing in our public schools, and guaranteeing our rights to clean air and water.

Advocating and protecting these values has never been more important than RIGHT NOW. 

I am ready for Richmond and I am so grateful to have a large list of endorsements behind me. Trusted leaders such as Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, Congresswoman McClellan, Senator John Bell, Senator Jennifer Boysko, and many more which you can check out here.  Organizations such as Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, Virginia Education Association, Equality Virginia, and others have also shared their support as I am the best candidate for HD-27. 

This is going to be a long campaign, but I will continue to show up and connect with voters across HD-27. But with folks like you in my corner, I know we will win in November.
