John,
Where is our leadership?
Tragedies are unfolding as fires in Maui and across the country destroy homes, communities, businesses, and even worse, innocent lives—a consequence of faulty power lines and aging infrastructure built to the standards of the last century.
The death toll from the Maui fires has now surpassed the fatalities in California’s deadliest fire—and continues to mount. These fires resulted from deteriorating power poles and bare lines, vulnerable to sparks and incapable of withstanding hurricane winds.
Disturbingly, power companies and regulators already had this information and did nothing.
What will it take for leadership to hold those responsible for this tragedy accountable?
If you want to learn more about the nation’s energy infrastructure crisis, please read my op-ed, “Maui Climate Massacre Was the Result of Low Energy Leadership”.
I have a fundraising deadline tomorrow at midnight, and I am just $2,152 away from meeting our August Goal! Can I count on you to help me reach it? Please contribute $20, $50, $100, or whatever you can give.

With my experience operating a naval nuclear power plant and overseeing California electrical infrastructure projects, I am the candidate who will bring forward new safety regulations and preventative measures, ensuring another community does not suffer the same destruction and loss as Maui.
Sincerely,
