2024 will not be a normal election year.
Donald Trump has now been impeached twice, indicted four times, and is set to face his first federal trial in March 2024 on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election.
He remains the runaway favorite in the race for the Republican nomination and the undisputed leader of the national Republican Party. Other GOP candidates are competing in the primaries not to defeat him, but to prove their loyalty to him.
No one can predict with certainty the events of the next 15 months. But regardless of how the 2024 campaign shapes up, we can be confident of a few things going in:

Indictments or even convictions alone won’t be enough to defeat Trump, or the authoritarian impulses of the party he now leads,

Working people from all backgrounds are going to need to keep showing up for each other, and at the polls, and
-
It’s going to take each and every one of us, organizing across our differences, to take them on and win, the same way we did four years ago.

In 2020, it took a massive movement, a get out the vote operation unlike any we’ve seen before, and a coalition built from the ground up to make Trump the first one-term president in a generation, all during the height of a global pandemic. But we did it.
In 2022, Trump’s minions and pundits alike predicted a “red wave” that would have seen Republicans seize full power of the federal government in the midterms. But we stopped them.
Since then, Republicans have continued their unpopular attacks on working people, on abortion rights, and on our freedoms, and continued to fuel violence and hate. And they’re showing no signs at all of backing away from Trump or backing down from his dark, authoritarian vision for this country.
So now we need to get ready to do it all again, in an election year that we already know will be far from “normal.”
We’re ready to throw down against MAGA Republicans and win one more time — but it’s going to take all of us joining together to make it happen. Chip in $5 or whatever you can afford to fuel our work to defeat them and elect working class champions up and down the ballot in 2023 and 2024.
