Fellow Conservative,

A few thoughts on the Gadsden Flag:
  • It was designed by a delegate to the first Continental Congress named Christopher Gadsden, who also served as Brigadier General to the Continental Army.
  • The rattlesnake was used as a symbol of the unity of the Thirteen Colonies at the start of the Revolutionary War.
  • It represents the Founders belief in the right of the individual over government.
  • It is not a symbol of slavery.
But let’s not let facts get in the way of a good narrative.

A 12-year-old in Colorado was told by a teacher that he can’t sport a Gadsden Flag patch on his backpack, because it has roots in slavery??

Come on, man.

This is a picture perfect example of the problem with our education system here in the United States.

How about we show some support for freedom of expression and pride in our country’s rich history?
