This is a huge deal, and a big step in the right direction for increasing positive Latino and more diverse representation in Hollywood.
Joaquin has always fought to increase diverse representation in the film industry, and was so excited to take his family to check it out. We must try and showcase all Americans and let everyone see themselves in all aspects of our society, including movies.

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking my family to see the new DC film, Blue Beetle.
For too long, Hollywood has relied on Latino stereotypes, creating narratives about us in America that lead to misunderstandings & even violence towards our communities. Positive Latino representation in movies like Blue Beetle is an important counteract to this.
My wife and I were excited to take our kids to see this movie because it gave them a chance to see themselves as superheroes on the big screen.
Hollywood has always pushed Latino stereotypes, and it’s time we change that narrative. Will you chip in $10 today to support my work in the fight for more positive diverse representation?

I’ve always been outspoken in the fight for diverse representation in film. This year, I submitted 27 Latino-driven nominations for the Library of Congress’ 2023 National Film Registry.
