Dear (Unknown),

I hope you're having a fantastic summer and staying safe! My team and I have been extraordinarily busy this summer doing what we love -- serving the people of the Bronx!

We've pushed federal agencies for answers on important issues, helped resolve dozens more constituent cases, visited many community events, and announced some new legislation. I have also been able to celebrate and recognize the well-deserved accomplishments and achievements of so many deserving Bronxites, as well as hear directly from you about what matters most to you and your families.

As always, I am proud to call the Bronx home and will continue fighting for the communities in our district. If you need assistance with a government agency, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (718) 503-9610.

Sincerely,

Rep. Ritchie Torres signature

Member of Congress

ONE LAST THING

This month, the U.S. Department of Education launched the most affordable student loan repayment plan ever, the SAVE plan

The SAVE plan will drastically reduce monthly payments for millions of borrowers by expanding eligibility and eliminating interest.

The SAVE Plan:

  • Determines your payment based on income and family size.
  • Expands income eligibility so more folks qualify for income driven repayment plans.
  • Eliminates 100% of remaining interest after a scheduled payment is made. If you make your monthly payment, your loan balance won’t grow due to unpaid interest.
  • With student loan payments resuming in October, the US Department of Education is encouraging borrowers to apply for the SAVE plan.
