Friend, Labor Day is almost here, and that means that the General Election campaign is kicking into high gear.

Today, we’re highlighting our amazing team in the 11th Legislative District, which includes much of Monmouth County, from suburban towns to some of the most beloved destinations down the Jersey Shore. We’re so excited to support State Senator Vin Gopal and his running mates, Assembly candidates Dr. Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul, Esq.!

RE-ELECT STATE SENATOR VIN GOPALLD11-1 [ [link removed]]

A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Senator Gopal is the embodiment of success through service. After graduating from Rutgers University with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, he returned home to Monmouth County to serve his community at every level. A former volunteer EMS responder, Vin is also the Founder and President of the Vin Gopal Civic Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to supporting Monmouth County charities and individuals by running food banks, organizing youth scholarship initiatives, and helping seniors.

Senator Gopal is also a proud Monmouth County small business owner. He has used his business experience in his fight for Monmouth County residents and small businesses, not big corporations. He puts his residents first and has passed legislation to help Monmouth County families plan for the future. He successfully:

With his historic 2021 re-election victory, Senator Gopal is currently in his second term and, at 38, is the youngest member of the New Jersey State Senate and the first (and only) Indian American State Senator in the state. He has always shown up for his constituents and is proof that the future of our Democratic leadership is bright.

ELECT ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE DR. MARGIE DONLON
LD11-1 [[link removed]]

As a Board-Certified practicing physician, Dr. Margie Donlon holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from Yale University and a Medical Degree from the University of Rochester. As a mother and active member of her community, Margie has already shown her commitment to the future of Monmouth County families. She served as a Governor-appointed member of the COVID Recovery Advisory Council in 2020 and is currently serving her second term as Deputy Mayor of Ocean Township, where she was elected in 2019 as the top vote-getter in a nine-candidate, non-partisan race.

As Deputy Mayor, Margie has established a reputation for working across the aisle to get things done - including lowering the tax rate four years in a row - making her uniquely qualified to represent a crucial swing district in the Legislature. She has advocated for protecting Monmouth County’s environment, acting as a liaison to the Environmental Commission, Shade Tree Commission, The Green Team, Deal Lake Watershed Alliance, and Deal Lake Commission.

As an avid surfer, Margie understands the importance of protecting the future of the Shore. She vows to use her time in the General Assembly to fight for the future of the environment and a woman’s right to receive safe and affordable health care.

ELECT ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE LUANNE PETERPAUL
LD11-1 [[link removed]]

Luanne Peterpaul is a former County Prosecutor who has tried a number of successful cases against criminals, including those who have committed thefts and homicide. Her extensive experience in the courthouse, where she developed a reputation for fairness and justice, earned her the trust and respect of law enforcement and community leaders alike.

In 2018, she was appointed to serve as Municipal Judge for the City of Long Branch and for the City of Asbury Park. With decades of experience on both sides of the courtroom, she understands firsthand the values of public safety and equal justice under the law.

Luanne is the former Chair of the Board for Garden State Equality (GSE), where she was instrumental in crafting nation-leading bipartisan anti-bullying legislation that passed the Legislature in September 2011. As a member of GSE, Luanne was a driving force behind marriage equality in New Jersey. In 2016, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the LGBT Rights section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She also served as co-counsel defending challenges to state law prohibiting conversion therapy.

Luanne joined Senator Gopal’s ticket because she knew the issues New Jersey families were facing were too big to fight for behind the bench. If elected, she would become the first openly gay woman in history to serve in the New Jersey Legislature.

Senator Vin Gopal, Dr. Margie Donlon, and Luanne Peterpaul will fight to make our communities safer by investing in public safety, protecting our environment (especially in Shore communities where sustainability has never been more critical), and delivering more public school funding by reversing harmful cuts to school aid in Monmouth County.
