We know we’ve been emailing a lot lately, so we wanted to take a moment to explain why.
Here are 3 reasons why we’re asking you to chip in $3 or more before tomorrow’s August fundraising deadline:
1. NY-19 is one of the most competitive districts in the entire country. Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball have rated it a toss-up, and national Democrats have identified our race as a top pickup opportunity to take back the House in 2024.
2. The GOP is pulling out all the stops to keep Marc Molinaro in office. Just last week, Kevin McCarthy came to NY-19 to headline a high-dollar fundraiser for Molinaro, and now Elise Stefanik is announcing she’s all-in with a new dark-money group targeting our district.
3. Molinaro is powered by special interests. We’re powered by you. Last quarter, Molinaro’s FEC report listed contributions from only 18 people in our Congressional district – 18! (We’ve had well over 1,000.) But that hasn’t stopped him from raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars from corporate special interests and Kevin McCarthy’s deep-pocketed dark-money donors.
Unlike Molinaro’s campaign, ours is entirely grassroots-powered, so contributions from folks like you have an immediate impact on our work.
