Hello John,
The fight to protect our reproductive rights is ongoing. We're excited to endorse our next set of leaders protecting our rights.
Today, we are proud to endorse a remarkable group of candidates who embody our mission of reproductive justice. These candidates are committed to protecting and expanding abortion access, and we're thrilled to have them on board.

Council Member Nadia Mohamed has served as an At-Large B council member since 2020. Mohamed is a 17-year resident of St. Louis Park. As a four-year member of the St. Louis Park Multicultural Advisory Committee, Mohamed participated in strategic planning and implementation efforts to connect various communities within St. Louis Park. That work resulted in Mohamed being named a co-recipient of the St. Louis Park Human Rights Award in 2019 and helped her to understand what could be achieved through civic activity.
Mohamed earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Metropolitan State University and is currently getting her master’s in educational leadership at St.Thomas University. Mohamed has spent her career in public service. She has worked as a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) specialist at a local public school and currently works at a state agency doing DEI work. In her spare time, she spends time with her family and loves to travel.

Wendy Webster - St. Anthony Mayor

Wendy Webster is deeply invested and committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive community of St. Anthony Village. Wendy and her husband Seth have lived in St. Anthony since 1999 and, in 2012, were lucky to become a family of four. The community of St. Anthony Village warmly welcomed their children, and her goal every day is to ensure new residents and young families feel they are welcomed into and valued in her community, too. Wendy has served as the Director of Community Services and Communications for the St. Anthony-New Brighton School District since 2008, where she leads with empathy and integrity to inspire and create an equitable community for all families. Wendy is proud to live, work, and serve in her community of St. Anthony Village.

Shanon Nowell - St. Peter Mayor

In 2019, Shanon Nowell was elected to the Saint Peter City Council to represent the city’s northward. In 2021, she became the second woman mayor of the city—exactly 100 years after Lillian Cox Gualt was elected mayor of Saint Peter to become the first woman mayor in Minnesota. Shanon loves the vibrant diversity of her community and works diligently to represent ALL Saint Peter residents. She is passionate about native plants and cares deeply about issues of equity that impact all aspects of life in greater Minnesota. In addition to her work as Mayor, Shanon has spent the last 17 years of her career working in higher education. She is a dedicated and prolific volunteer and has served on many boards, committees, and commissions within her community.

These candidates are dedicated to ensuring reproductive justice for all. Their commitment to reproductive health and care aligns with our vision for a more equitable future.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to electing leaders who will protect and expand abortion access for everyone. Together, we can make a lasting impact on reproductive rights and create a more equitable society.
With gratitude,
Team Women Winning
