Dear neighbors,
I hope you are able to get out and enjoy the Minnesota State Fair this week! I was able to spend the first two days volunteering at the Minnesota House of Representatives Public Information Booth, talking to constituents about what we passed this session and what ideas you all have for the future!
I also visited the Honey section of the Agriculture/Horticulture building, the Lawns to Legumes display from Blue Thumb and the Board of Water and Soil Resources, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Eco Experience, the University of Minnesota Prion Research booth, and more! There are so many great organizations at the fair showing our work to protect our environment and natural resources.
Yesterday, I welcomed members of the conservation group Pheasants Forever to our district and the Grey Cloud Island Scientific and Natural Area (SNA). I received their ?Habitat Cooperator? award for all the work we have done in the Environment and Natural Resources Committee to protect and expand habitats around the state.
I also attended a ribbon cutting with Congresswoman Angie Craig and Washington County Staff for the 100th Street Realignment project, which will improve safety and transportation in our district. You can learn more on the county webpage.
Coming up later this week, I will be co-chairing a meeting of the Legislative Audit Commission as we hear a presentation of key findings from an audit of the Hometown Heroes Assistance Program, which was designed to help firefighters get access to health and mental health resources. More information and a link to the live stream are available here.
Please continue to share your questions, ideas, and feedback throughout the legislative session. You can reach me by email at?[email protected]?or by phone at 651-296-6828. You can contact my Legislative Assistant Sam O'Neill at 651-296-3305 or via email at?[email protected].?
Sincerely,
Rick Hansen State Representative
