Growing up as a Muslim woman in a working-class family, Khalilah’s fight for vulnerable Black and brown communities taught her that building real community starts with organizing.

But in a political climate with rampant hate and Islamophobia fueled by extremist “leaders”, it’s crucial we elect leaders like Khalilah, who will actually enact policy to safeguard vulnerable communities.

With a major deadline looming, Khalilah needs your grassroots support to fund her City Council campaign. If she doesn’t raise $4,185 before her end-of-month deadline, she will have to scale back her efforts. We can’t let that happen.

John, I made a promise to myself and my community that even though I may be the 1st Muslim woman elected in North Carolina, I would make sure I’m not the last.

But right now, deep-pocketed millionaires are flooding local city races with dark money to defeat progressives. Especially Muslim progressives like Khalilah, who rely solely on grassroots support.

That’s why I’m counting on you, John. It's crucial we mobilize our grassroots base to ensure we have strong community leaders like Khalilah in office.
