Can you send a quick message to your representative right now?

ACLU Supporter, I want to make sure you saw my email from last week.

We'll be in D.C. this Thursday urging legislators in person to support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. The more bipartisan support we have now, the more likely we are to secure a victory in the House – and the Senate.

We have a real shot, but we need your help to get there. Our records show that you haven't yet contacted your legislator about PWFA. They may already support the bill (you can check that here on congress.gov <[link removed]>), but if they don't, we need you to take action right now:

Send a message to your House representative so that no one must choose between a healthy pregnancy and keeping their job. <[link removed]>

The reality is, too many employers don't make any accommodations for pregnant workers. And that needs to change. Help us pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

Take Action <[link removed]>

Thanks,

Vania

ACLU Supporter –

Our reproductive rights are under attack. We can see that with abortion bans and medically unnecessary restrictions from lawmakers throughout the country.

But there's another fight on this front that you may not know about – one with a solution that's starting to get real, bipartisan support in Congress.

Every day, pregnant workers are fired, forced to quit, or take unpaid leave. Workers must make an impossible choice: a healthy pregnancy or their job. But the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act would create federal protections so we can make decisions about our bodies without risking our livelihood.

In just one week, activists like you will be speaking with representatives on Capitol Hill, urging them to show their support for PWFA by cosponsoring the bill and passing it in the House. Right now, it's critical that we all show resounding support for the bill so this lobby day is a success. Send a message to your representative so they support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. <[link removed]> (And check if they already support PWFA on congress.gov. <[link removed]>)

Pregnant employees are routinely denied temporary job accommodations like schedule changes or a break from heavy lifting – even when coworkers who are not pregnant receive such accommodations. And women in low-wage and physically demanding jobs are affected the most.

Urgency around passing PWFA is mounting: Since we launched our campaign in January, 64 new representatives have joined as cosponsors of the bill – including 8 Republicans. Now we need your help to maintain our momentum, secure a strong House vote, and carve a path to victory in the Senate.

It's going to take all of us in order to get there. Tell your representative that you demand critical, federal protections for pregnant workers – protections that are long overdue. <[link removed]>

Thanks for taking action,
