Some Dallas residents, with the support of a few City Council members, called for the city manager to stop raising taxes and increasing city budgets.
At Wednesday’s City Council meeting, Mayor Eric Johnson, with a toy boat prop in hand, likened the city’s fiscal situation to the Titanic approaching an iceberg. In lockstep with the mayor, City Council member Cara Mendelsohn indicated the city was coming toward “the edge of the cliff".

Cities Flourish When They Are Pro-Growth and Pro-Opportunity
The City of Fort Worth will weigh incentives for two massive projects that could bring over 1,700 jobs to the city. Between the two projects, the combined total investment will measure in at $585 million. Under the agreements, Siemens would create an advanced manufacturing facility in Fort Worth and contract manufacturer DrinkPak will establish two new locations in the city.
