Hi John,

I won't lie: Wes sets a grueling pace as governor (he played football in college, I was in the science lab!). But I've been determined to keep up with him so we can keep delivering for Maryland!

Here's what I've been up to this month:

  • Packing school supply bags for Maryland students 🎒

  • Releasing Terrapins 🐢 back into their natural habitat with with the state environmental service

  • Meeting with county and municipal officials at the Maryland Associations of Counties Conference (and enjoying all the crab 🦀 Ocean City has to offer!)

  • Visiting the 🚑 Maryland Department of Emergency Management to get to know the folks who are on the frontlines when emergencies happen in our state – like the big storm earlier this month that knocked out power for nearly 100,000 BGE customers

Because Wes and I have been on the road so much, we're a bit behind on fundraising. Can you pitch in before midnight tomorrow to help close the gap before August is over?

Thank you,

Aruna Miller
Lt. Governor of Maryland

Subject line: August update

John,

As summer comes to a close, my schedule has been packed these last two weeks. And I wanted to share some highlights:

  • Went to the Ravens' and Commanders' training camps 🏈 – I'm making the case that the Commanders should continue to play and win in PG county

  • Visited the 🏥 Women's Health Center in Western Maryland to thank them for all they do – they moved here after West Virginia banned virtually all abortion care

  • Attended the Maryland Associations of Counties Conference in the beautiful Ocean City 🦀 – I'm building partnerships with our local electeds and doing the work to get our economy growing and make this Maryland's decade

  • Took Tucker 🐶 to the SPCA of Anne Arundel's puppy plunge – we made some great new friends who are adorable AND adoptable

Now, I'm proud of all that travel, and I wouldn't change it for the world. Because it's how I fulfill my role as governor of Maryland and make sure we leave no one behind.

But… It means we haven't been hitting our fundraising as hard as we could. And that's not something we can afford to leave behind either, John.

So I'm asking you right now to pitch in and help close our fundraising gap before August is over. Every dollar you pitch in helps keep me focused on being governor, rather than fundraising.

Thanks for believing not just in me, but in Maryland.

Elevate,

Wes
