Folks, I just finished reading an article in Politico talking about how Virginia is the next abortion battleground in the country. Take a look at this snippet:

"Democrats in the 'next abortion battleground' think this year will be a different story"

Frankly, I do believe we can make this year a different story. Here’s why: We just saw Ohio voters block State Issue 1, a proposal that would’ve made it more difficult to pass a constitutional amendment that would enshrine abortion rights in the state’s constitution, and boy did that get Democrats across the country fired up. Now it’s Virginia’s turn to show the country that like Ohio, we won’t sit idly by after the overturning of Roe v. Wade . We can prove we have what it takes to shut down Republicans’ dangerous anti-abortion agenda and protect access to reproductive health care.

This November, we can elect enough pro-choice Democrats to the General Assembly to turn our legislature blue and defend reproductive health care for not just all Virginians, but for our Southern neighbors whose GOP leaders have either banned or rolled back access to abortion.

We’ve got the momentum on our side, now let’s get it done.
