Friends —
I've always been a numbers person, I run all my campaigns with the knowledge of where we've been, how we got there, and what we need to do to achieve our goals.
So let's start at the beginning — when I first ran for office in 2018:
1,500 volunteers made up the largest Democratic field campaign in the Midwest. 200,000 doors knocked, 1 million phone calls and texts to get out the vote and a 13,098 vote victory.
Then on to 2020, where COVID completely upended campaigning as we know it:
Nearly 2,000 volunteers, many virtual. Over 50,000 informational flyers left at doors (since we weren’t knocking doors during the pandemic), and again nearly 1 million phone calls to get out the vote. We won by 15,412. Thank you independent voters of Michigan!
Then on to 2022, where we had a brand new district to compete in, going from 2.5 counties to 7.
Again nearly 2,000 volunteers knocked on 85,000 doors and made more than 670,000 phone calls. This time we won by our largest margin, by 20,184 votes.
Now we're into the 2024 cycle, where I'm running for United States Senate to represent the whole state of Michigan.
Everything will be larger: We're going from 7 counties to 83 counties. We'll have a more extensive field campaign, requiring more volunteers, more doors knocked, more phone calls and texts, and yes... more money raised.
So today, we’re asking for your early support to help us build the financial foundation we’ll need to scale up our campaigning and win this race.

We've got a lot of work to do over the next year. But if we're in this together, we're going to win.
