Indivisibles in Republican districts: The actions in this email are
aimed at Democratic representatives because, right now, getting Dems on
board for reproductive freedom is the most important and impactful thing
we can do going into the 2024 cycle. But we wanted to ensure
Indivisibles in red districts could see the full picture of our work and
know that we are still working on reproductive freedom, even if there is
not a direct ask on abortion rights for red districts right now.

Read on for more of our strategy, and if you want to help right away,
you can [ [link removed] ]donate to Indivisible Action to ensure we have the funds we
need to continue this work and battle for a more just reproductive
future.

Indivisibles,

Republicans have not stopped their assault on abortion rights since the
fall of Roe.

Just last week, the all-male South Carolina Supreme Court upheld a
[ [link removed] ]6-week abortion ban, essentially completing a ban across the entire
South. At the same time, anti-choice activist Justice Matthew Kacsmaryk is
once again at the center of an abortion access case as anti-abortion
extremists hand-picked his court in an [ [link removed] ]attempt to bankrupt Planned
Parenthood by erroneously accusing it of fraud for adhering to a court
order.

We knew the fall of Roe was just the beginning, but the MAGA GOP continues
to strip away reproductive rights even as the vast majority of voters
support access to abortion.

Democrats keep fighting back though, and we’re standing up right along
with them.

[ [link removed] ]Today, we are introducing our Reproductive Freedom Agenda!

Reproductive Freedom Agenda:

As MAGA Republicans have found more inventive and draconian ways to
effectively ban abortion, we have rallied around the knowledge that it
won’t be enough just to codify Roe federally. We have to go further in
order to ensure everyone, everywhere, is truly free to make their own
reproductive decisions.

All House Democrats (aside from Reps. Cuellar and Gonzalez from Texas)
have already signed on to the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), which
would codify Roe and protect the legal right to abortion care, but we are
championing a trio of other bills that would extend those protections even
further:

* [ [link removed] ]H.R. 782 -- Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act

* For some MAGA Republicans, banning abortion in their own state
wasn’t enough -- they want to prevent people from traveling
elsewhere to receive legal abortion care. This bill affirms that
everyone has the right to travel across state lines to seek
care.

* [ [link removed] ]H.R. 3420 -- My Body, My Data Act of 2023

* Republicans have no problem exploiting the lack of regulations
for private reproductive health data entered into online apps,
websites, and search engines to go after people they suspect of
having received abortion care. This bill would create privacy
standards so that our personal health data stays personal.

* [ [link removed] ]H.R. 4303 -- Abortion Justice Act

* Codifying Roe would restore the legal right to abortion, but that
isn’t enough on its own. There have always been systemic barriers
in place that prevented people -- particularly Black, brown, and
low-income folks -- from actually accessing the care they need.
This bill would remove some of these barriers to care and address
disparities and systemic racism in reproductive health care.

These bills would combine to not only enshrine the foundations of
reproductive freedom, but also stop some of the more insidious means MAGA
extremists have used to attempt to block all abortion access. Though we
don’t have the numbers to pass these bills in this Congress, building the
coalition now and showing that Dems are dedicated to this goal will build
the foundation we need to win in 2024 and enshrine reproductive freedom in
the next Congress. We need your help to get all Democrats on board today:

* [ [link removed] ]Check out our new Reproductive Freedom Agenda. This will be your
one-stop shop for comprehensive information on our reproductive rights
stances and immediate actions you can take to help us protect and
restore abortion access nationally.
* [ [link removed] ]Join our Making a Majority Cohort Call on Tuesday, September 5 at
8pm ET/5pm PT. This call is for anyone in a blue district. We’ll be
talking about our Reproductive Freedom Agenda and continuing to plan
how we can work with our reps and our communities to move these bills
forward and set ourselves up to win in 2024.
* [ [link removed] ]Call your representative now and ask them to champion reproductive
freedom and protect abortion access. We need all Democrats in the
House to cosponsor the entire Reproductive Freedom Agenda. Each bill
is important on its own, but together, they combine to create
comprehensive protections for abortion access and care.
* If your representative has already cosponsored all three bills,
[ [link removed] ]write a letter to the editor thanking them for being a
reproductive freedom champion. Our representatives and their
constituents need to know when we’re proud of their work. Make sure to
encourage your representative to keep showing up for reproductive
freedom by publicly showing your support.

As has been shown in [ [link removed] ]Ohio, [ [link removed] ]Kansas, and [ [link removed] ]across the entire
country, Americans care about reproductive freedom and will get out to
vote to protect those rights. It’s on us now to make sure our Democratic
representatives are doing everything they can to protect abortion access.
Contact your Rep. today and make sure they’re on board.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
