Dear Friend,

As Summer winds down and we turn to the Fall, I look forward to my travel to London where I will be speaking to 300 parliamentarians from around the world about the urgent need for energy security. The Ukraine War and Europe's recent reliance on Russian gas illuminate how important American energy independence really is. I continue to stress to our European allies and leaders from the Third World that every country urgently needs to secure a supply of cheap and reliable energy for its citizens.

My new 501c4, Fix Pennsylvania, is quickly moving forward using the same blueprint that Governors Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis used to turn Florida from a swing state to a red state.

No matter where you stand politically, it’s devastating to see a former U.S. president’s mugshot and the worst-ever political witch hunt in the history of our great country. And how ironic that the congress has revealed the Biden family’s corruption including bank records and whistleblower testimony and no news outlet or prosecutor seems especially interested. This is the most serious presidential scandal in the history of our country. I believe that Americans from both sides of the aisle want equal justice under the law.

It’s exciting to lead the charge for AFPI ‘s PA chapter as AFPI forms state chapters throughout the country. ** OP-ED: Linda McMahon: Protect small businesses from crime if you want a thriving economy

Recently, Linda McMahon, AFPI Chair of the Board and Chair of the Center for the American Worker, penned an op-ed in Fox News on the rise of crime nationwide and its effect on small business, a bedrock of our economy.

The escalating surge in retail theft is wreaking havoc on businesses of all sizes nationwide. A recent survey conducted among retail and grocery workers revealed that a staggering 50% of them bore witness to a theft or an attempted theft from October 2022 to April 2023.

To illustrate the gravity of the situation, let's consider the shocking occurrence where 20 different dollar stores in the Detroit area fell victim to robberies within a mere 22-day span earlier this year. Compounding the problem is the increasingly menacing trend of organized retail crime, whereby groups collaborate to pilfer from retail establishments, posing a mounting threat.

According to the National Retail Federation, this form of retail theft surged by 26.5% in 2021 and displays no indication of decelerating anytime soon.

Ashley Hayek is originally from the small agricultural town of Clovis, California, and serves as AFPI’s Chief Engagement Officer. Hayek is a political strategist with more than 15 years of experience in political, non-profit, and organization consulting, most recently serving on the Trump-Pence 2020 presidential campaign as the National Coalitions Director. At the age of 22, she started her first company in the loft of her townhouse in San Diego and within five years became the premier political and non-profit fundraising firm in Southern California. Hayek attended the University of California, San Diego, where she received a degree in Political Science, and is the proud wife of a United States Marine and mom of five.
