There is little to be said about the tragedy that happened in Jacksonville this weekend that has not already been said. We mourn Angela Michelle Carr, Anolt Joseph “AJ” Laguerre Jr., and Jerrald Gallion, and we pray for their loved ones and all those involved in these stunning acts of unadulterated hatred.
The Collective PAC unequivocally condemns the evil that occurred in Jacksonville this weekend.
This was yet another example of racism and white supremacy and a reminder that both are alive and well in our nation.
We have been fighting hate organizations like the KKK for more than a hundred years, and as we all know, that fight is hardly over.
If we want to emerge stronger and more united, we must re-dedicate ourselves to ensuring that our nation’s diversity is reflected in its leaders.
We must continue to work tirelessly to replace the extreme right-wing contingents that have permeated our governments with more people of color up and down the ballot.
We must continue to educate and advocate on the issues facing our communities.
We must keep fighting no matter what — because together, we can overcome.
Thank you for standing with us, and for supporting a better and more equal future that is within our reach.
The Collective PAC
The Collective PAC is strategically focused on creating a truly equitable democracy where our nation’s local, state and federal governments have diverse and talented elected leadership and Black people are fully represented in positions of
power to create the policies necessary to progress our communities forward. Since our inception in 2016, we have helped 110 candidates win general elections at the local, state and federal levels. We strive to support the next wave of
progressive and unapologetic Black candidates who will usher in a sea of change in our political system while helping America fulfill its promise of democracy by creating a government that will truly be for the people and of the people.
