2020 Census Detailed Demographic and Housing Characteristics File A [ [link removed] ]
*AUGUST 30, 2023 *? The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a prerelease webinar Sept. 13 to discuss the 2020 Census Detailed Demographic and Housing Characteristics File A [ [link removed] ] (Detailed DHC-A) to be released to the public on Sept. 21. This product provides population counts and sex by age statistics for approximately 1,500 detailed racial and ethnic groups, such as?German, Lebanese, Jamaican, Chinese,?Native Hawaiian?and Mexican, and detailed American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) tribes and villages like the Navajo?Nation.
Data will be available for the nation, states, counties, places (cities and towns), census tracts, and American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian (AIANNH) areas. The amount of data available for the detailed racial and ethnic groups and AIAN tribes and villages depends on their population size within a specific geography. This approach allows the Census Bureau to produce as much detail as possible while ensuring strong confidentiality protections.
Embargoed subscribers [ [link removed] ] will have access to these statistics from Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m. EDT to Thursday, Sept. 21, at 12:01 a.m. EDT.
The webinar will provide information on the data that will be available and how to access it. A live Q&A session with Census Bureau subject-matter experts will immediately follow the briefing.
